The Afterlife

Classic Porsche Restoration was looking for a way to highlight their Maryland-based shop on a global stage, showcasing their rigorous restoration process and the final outcome of their labor: a state of the art classic Porsche renewal. Potential clients all over the world are looking for shops of their caliber, so CPR needed to distinguish themselves as a premiere shop online.
Our goal was to capture the soul of a classic Porsche: the raw energy, timeless design, and the passion that drives people to restore them. We also had to show how the craftsmen at Classic Porsche Restoration breathe new life into these iconic machines, so we set out to bottle that essence into a high-energy, audio-visual experience that stopped the scroll.
We knew this video had to capture attention from the very first frame, so we put together a production crew of heavy-hitters who had experience filming and recording vehicles with a cinematic flair.
Because this project was so focused on the passion behind restoring these vehicles, we wanted to keep things simple as far as locations and production design. With input from CPR, we chose locations in and around the shop where we could film all of our scenes safely.
The scenes shot at the shop were characterized by slow, precise camera movements that highlighted specific features and actions during the restoration process. In stark contrast, the driving sequences were to have chaotic, hand-held-style camera movements designed to create a visceral viewing experience.
In post, we amplified the intensity of each sequence by smashing them together with seamless transitions and a booming custom sound design, not to mention a slick 70s-style color grade and soundtrack to match.

In addition to the video, we also captured several stills of the restoration process, being sure to highlight both the craft and craftsmen who give life to these Porsches after death. We also captured unique angles of the finished vehicles, showcasing the beautiful results of their high-level renewal process.
By their current metrics, if Classic Porsche Restoration were to stop taking new clients, they would have enough restoration work to last them four years. You could say they are in quite a lot of demand. Clientele from all over the world regularly reach out after discovering their business online, thanks in part to this kickass video they saw first.
