A Bold New Website for Empowering Women
Black Women Thriving East of the River (BWTEotR) had a bold mission: empowering Black women in the DC area east of the Anacostia River to thrive personally and professionally. However, their old website struggled to keep up; it was outdated and difficult to navigate, lacking the energy of their newly rebranded organization. They needed a platform that could serve as both an information hub and a compelling digital representation of their mission, one that would connect with Black women in the medical field, local hospitals, workforce organizations, and those in need of cancer treatment. Oh, and the deadline? Tight. Challenge accepted.
We immersed ourselves in BWTEotR’s rebrand, leveraging their brand manual, user personas, and wireframes to guide our approach. The goal was to design a website that showcased their vibrant color palette of golds, pinks, and purples while creating a user-friendly experience that told a cohesive story. By focusing on clear navigation and impactful messaging, we ensured the site would drive engagement and reflect the confidence and empowerment at the heart of BWT’s mission.

Featuring bold branding, intuitive navigation, and optimized tools for event registration and sponsorship engagement, the site seamlessly combined function and style. A user-friendly content management system empowered BWTEotR’s team to manage and grow their digital footprint with ease.
